Colorful Summer Wedding Inspiration

The summertime is one of the most anticipated seasons of the year, bringing us sunshine and blue skies. Making it the perfect time to host a memorable warm-weather wedding! The latest and greatest in summer trends revolve around bright colors, fun patterns, and romantic details. To help inspire you, we’re sharing a few of our favorite ideas and inspiration for a colorful summer wedding.

Summer Wedding Dresses

Come summertime you’ll want a gown that is comfortable and cool but still screams bridal. For a more traditional wedding style, consider a classic white dress that features intricate lace. Take for example the ‘Tobi’ gown by Amanda James Bridal. It features a sophisticated column silhouette and intricate lace. Paired them with matching puff sleeves for a look that is romantic but makes a statement!

If you prefer a look that is equally romantic but a little more unique, opt for a gown with a splash of color! By Millia London, the Violetta Gown is a hand-dyed Lavender soft tulle ruffle gown. It features a plunging neckline, beautiful bow shoulder details, and a sultry low back. With a voluminous and airy skirt, we love this style for an outdoor garden wedding.

As for styling your bridal party, we’re all about the mix and match look! For this bride’s summer wedding, her girls doned bright gowns featuring florals. To complement the season they stuck with bright colors. To avoid overwhelming the eye, we recommend your girls wear a mix of small and large floral prints.

While we love a unique bridal party, there’s nothing wrong with a more classic look. This squad kept it simple with bridesmaid dresses in a range of orange-pink hues, such as peach and coral. To keep it fun, they each wore unique styles featuring different necklines. To maintain a bright summery vibe, the bride complimented their gowns with vibrant bouquets of pink, orange, and yellow blooms.

With beautiful weather in abundance, a colorful summer wedding ceremony is a must. Not only can you use the natural foliage to your benefit, as shown with this large oak tree backdrop. But it’s easy to pair with floral arrangements for an extra luxe look. This design features large pink and white blooms. However, you could easily up the romance with airy white drapery.

If you don’t have an existing structure to decorate, you can always rent or DIY a wedding backdrop. A ring such as this is always popular, but depending on the natural backdrop you might prefer a different shape. If there is a beautiful view opt for a semi-circle of florals on the ground. Or if you want a less romantic and more modern or boho look, look for a geometric arbor.

We love a bright tablescape and there is no time like summer to pull out all the stops. This chic design features a stunning mix of patterns via the tablecloth and napkins. To break up the pattern, they kept the servingware simple with white china. However, the florals are by far our favorite element, with bright and feminine colors such as orange, yellow and pink.

As always, bright and fun colors are a popular choice for summer wedding color schemes. However, this year we’re also expecting to see an influx of soft pastels. The following tablescape features a wild mix of pastel hues ranging from blue and purple to yellow and pink. It also features an array of textures, to contrast the soft colors. Note the white wicker placemats, bamboo flatware, and textured glassware.

Time to cut the cake and oh how we love the use of natural elements! This classic white wedding cake was kicked up a notch with beautiful pressed flowers straight from the garden. While we love the mix of textures and styles, you can also limit the flowers you feature to match your color palette or scheme.

If you want to infuse some nostalgia into your day, go with a super sweet Rice Krispy wedding cake! We used to love eating Rice Krispies outside on summer nights, sticky fingers and all – and your guests will love it too. To help reduce the mess, we recommend using minimal icing on this cake. Instead, decorate it with fresh flowers and remove them before the cutting ceremony.
