Modern Beach Wedding Inspiration

What better way to say “I do” than with sand between your toes and the wind blowing through your hair, to the sound of waves crashing against the shore nearby. Beach weddings are a popular choice amongst couples, especially those who have an affinity for the sea or watersports. After all, blue skies and shorelines make for such a beautiful backdrop. If you’ve been tossing around the idea of a coastal wedding, keep reading for some modern beach wedding inspiration that will lend a timeless look to your day.

Beach Bridal Style

When it comes to a beach wedding, comfort is everything. Beach weddings are often planned for warmer months, so a dress that allows you to breathe is ideal. But you will still want a look that is feminine, romantic, and timeless. First, consider your silhouette. Fit and flare gowns may make walking in the sand even more difficult, so opt for a classic a-line or column. For a more timeless style consider a simple gown with minimal details. If you prefer a more traditional look, go with lace but avoid a floral pattern. Choose an organic print instead! As for shoes, it’s up to your but we recommend going barefoot. If shoes are a must, choose a casual flat or embellished sandal.

Of course, what’s a bridal ensemble without a bouquet. This essential accessory should complement your style, as well as your overall wedding theme or color palette. When it comes to achieving a timeless beach wedding look, we recommend sticking with a neutral bouquet. This first piece is elegant with all-white blooms but goes all out on texture. The second is airy and organic but features a sprinkle of light pink peonies. The last bouquet, and possibly our favorite, features a combination thanks to beautiful bleached flowers.

Beach Wedding Ceremonies

Need beach wedding inspiration for a shoreline ceremony? The water’s edge is the perfect place to say “I Do”, where guests can not only witness your nuptials but enjoy the beautiful skyline. As with any venue that features a view, you should aim to complement it rather than hide it. For this reason, we recommend a relatively simple wedding backdrop. In general, any sleek arbor will do. Think of geometric shapes or a classic round arbor. If you want to feature florals, opt for muted colors and minimal volume. If you would rather avoid obstructing the skyline altogether, go with a beautiful grounded floral installation.

Seaside Wedding Receptions

Once the ceremony is over, don’t stray too far from the beach! Cozy up in the sand with a simple but oh-so-romantic wedding reception setup. Consider an intimate picnic-inspired table, where guests can place their legs beneath the table – but only if your event is casual. If you’re planning a more traditional and formal affair, opt for a luxe open-air arrangement. With minimalistic tables, string lights between the palms, and pampas grass arrangements blowing in the wind. Don’t forget to include some beachy textures on your tablescapes, like rattan or wicker placemats.

Luxe Beach Wedding Details

When it comes to beach weddings, there are so many fun details that you can include! Get creative and consider your surroundings to determine what would play into your theme well. For example, beaches are where people go to relax. So rent some beach-worthy lounge furniture for your cocktail hour. For a wedding favor, surprise your guests with a cigar bar, or even an onsite roller for entertainment. If you plan to have assigned seats, hire a calligrapher to personalize large pieces of beach glass!
