Our Favorite Castle Venues for a Fairytale-Inspired Wedding

At some point in your life, you’ve probably dreamed of a fairytale wedding. One straight from the movies, where you say “I Do” to the love of your life in front of a magnificent castle. And if that vision has stuck around, then we want to make it happen! So to help you host the fairytale-inspired wedding of your dreams, here are some of our favorite castle venues! 

The Biltmore in North Carolina

An unrivaled estate belonging to the Vanderbilt family, The Biltmore in North Carolina is a one-of-a-kind luxury wedding venue. Here, couples can host a modern wedding with a historic flair. Host your ceremony and reception in a variety of settings. From the manicured lawn and gardens to the charming conservatory, or at their nearby Inn or Antler Hill Barn.

Oheka Castle in New York

Entertaining since 1919, Oheka Castle is situated on the Gold Coast of New York – and is one of our favorite castle venues! You and your guests will savor award-winning cuisine and dance the night away as celebrities, dignitaries, and heads of state once did during the golden age of the Roaring Twenties. It features expansive grounds and gardens, in addition to breathtaking ballrooms, foyers, and lounge areas.

Cherokee Castle in Colorado

A truly magnificent setting, Cherokee Ranch & Castle is a ​​1450s Scottish-style estate nestled on 3,400 beautiful acres. A hidden sanctuary, it features a panoramic view of the Denver skyline, the Front Range, and the Rockies to Pikes Peak. Exchange vows on the lush grounds below or the stone upper terrace, followed by a chic ceremony on the outdoor patio. Rosecliff in Rhode Island

Built in 1902, Rosecliff is a mansion straight from the Gilded Age. It offers spectacular ocean views, lush landscaped gardens, and inspiring architecture, including the largest ballroom in America and a stunning heart-shaped staircase. Host your ceremony in the intricate ballroom, followed by a lively cocktail hour on the lit-up terrace, and a seated dinner in the Salon. 

Iolani Palace in Hawaii

Spanning 11 acres, Iolani Palace is a complex with several distinct spaces available to rent for both large or intimate weddings. It features all the charm and the splendor of 1880s Hawaii, including a magnificent interior and well-manicured grounds. Say “I Do” beneath the Coronation Pavilion or Barracks Lawn, with cocktail and dinner on the magical on the Banyan Terrace.

Thornewood Castle in Washington

A historic Tudor Gothic home in the Pacific Northwest, Thornewood Castle is an enchanting setting for a fairytale-wedding. With options for both indoor and outdoor gatherings, your event is sure to be memorable. Host guests in the Great Hall or Ballroom, or out on the grounds in the garden, in the large covered Loggia, or on the manicured lawn overlooking American Lake. 

Hammond Castle in Maine

Nestled on Gloucester’s rocky Atlantic coast, the Hammond Castle Museum is the perfect setting for your wedding. You will have exclusive access to the Museum and the artifacts inside, as well s the Ocean lawn and gardens. Booking this venue also includes educational tours for your guests, specific pieces of furniture and decor for your use, and separate rooms for the Bride and Groom throughout the event.

The Ashley Castle in Arizona

Ideal for elegant receptions and ceremonies, The Ashley Castle is an ornately-decorated event space designed to inspire your guests. Within the walls, you will find a lovely foyer guarded by suits of armor, a magnificent grand ballroom, richly appointed dressing room suites with private closets and bathrooms. On the surrounding grounds you’ll find a lush garden and a large metal arbor for ceremonies.

Gillette Castle in Connecticut

Perched on the 7th Sister hill, 200 feet over the Connecticut River, is the 14,000 square foot stone wonder that is Gillette Castle. The outdoor terrace, with the Lower Connecticut River Valley as a scenic backdrop, is available to rent for your special day from June through September on Saturdays. In the event of rain, ceremonies will be held under the covered patio. However, no reception site is available!
